The world of dew
Is the world of dew
And yet
And yet

Just Poets Member Statement:

I think this old poem is profound, succinct, and yet very descriptive. It was written upon death of his daughter, but surely it has a much wider and deeper meaning.

This poem is appears in Dumpling Field (translated by Lucien Stryk), which is available by clicking here.

“The world of dew…” was actually written upon the death of a son, but he used it to express his sorrow over the death of a daughter later on in Ora ga haru, Spring of My Life.

  2. A wonderful image of how life’s very delicacy and transitory nature is its glory. And yet… there is that ”yet’!
