Carl Sandburg

Fog

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Just Poets Member Statement:

This poem, read on a foggy morning in New Orleans in elementary school, inspired me to write about what we see without ever seeing. I have always admired such single concise, precise images.
