Upcoming Poetry Events – July 2011

It’s July and it’s the time of the year to celebrate the United States and John Roche. John Roche?! Yes, John Roche. He is on a wild, frenzy reading tour this month and next, so make sure you catch him as he promotes his newest collection of poems, Road Ghosts, which is available from theenk Books.

Tuesday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. – The Genesee Reading Series, with impresario Wanda Schubmehl, continues to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Writers & Books with a program featuring Joy Underhill and Bob Shea.

Wednesday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m. – Sean Thomas Dougherty, Teresa Peipins, and John Roche reading.  This will take place at the wonderful book store in Buffalo – Talking Leaves Books. It’s located at 3158 Main St., Buffalo, NY.

Thursday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. —  John Roche will be the featured reader at the monthly the Just Poets Reading Series hosted by Ed Scutt. The reading will be held in the upstairs Community Room at the Pittsford Barnes & Noble. It will be followed by an open mic. Bring a poem or two to read and share with your fellow poets and other readers.

Tuessday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. – John Roche and Sam Abrams will read at the The Little Theatre Café, 240 East Avenue, Rochester, NY.

Monday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. – John Roche will the featured reader at the Harvest Café. The event will be followed by an open mic. The Harvest Café is located at 224 West Main St., Montour Falls, NY.
