Just Poets August 2011 Meeting, Donna Marbach, and Poetry Pilates 2

The next Just Poets meeting is Saturday, August 6, from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. August 6, at its usual meeting place at St. John Fisher College  in the  COP conference room on the second floor of the Campus Center.

Donna MarbachDonna Marbach will facilitate  the opening presentation with Poetry Pilates 2.  This is a participatory workshop that will provide a series of prompts, exercises, and ideas to keep your creative juices flowing.  Bring paper, pencils or pens, and a willingness to take some risks.

Following the presentation, there will be the usual workshopping of poems with Kitty Jospe and Donna Marbach each facilitating one of the sessions.  If you wish to workshop a recent poem, please remember to bring 10 -12 typed copies for sharing.

At the meeting, you will also learn more about another wonderful Just Poets Retreat coming up in October, which will again feature workshops, food, and fellowship. Also  joining us for that retreat, will be Michael Meyerhofer, whose Pure Elysium was the winner of the Palettes & Quills chapbook contest as judged by Dorianne Laux. Meyerhofer will be in town that same week for a series of visits and readings. To order a copy of this winning book so you can get is signed when he is here, click here.

So put on your creative thinking caps and join us Saturday for a great afternoon of poetry possibilities!  Hope to see you there.
