You really can’t miss this program – these are two Renaissance men whose work is compelling, original, and provocative!

The Genesee Reading Series, with impresario Wanda Schubmehl, continues to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Writers & Books with a program featuring Len Messineo and RP (Bob) Siegel.

Len Messineo earned his MFA in Creative Writing at Wichita State University, and his MA in Theater at St. Louis University. He is general editor of the book The Unburnished Mirror: An Interpretative Study of Folklore. His pieces have appeared in many magazines, including Shenandoah, Tampa Review, New Novel Review, The Sun Magazine, The Chrysalis Reader, Tennessee Review, and Rosebud, and his stories have earned two nominations for inclusion in the Pushcart Prize Anthology. His one-act plays, By the Sea and My Anatomically Correct Artificial Life Form were performed as part of the GEVA Theatre’s Regional Playwrights Festival in Rochester, NY. He teaches at Writers and Books, runs the 2000 Word Club at Barnes and Noble, and performs throughout the Rochester area in the Artisan Jazz Trio.

RP (Bob) Siegel is an author and inventor whose passion runs along literary, environmental, and technological lines. His publications include business and technical articles as well as the recent sustainability novel,Vapor Trails, his third, co-authored with Roger Saillant. This novel,which attracted interest from the film industry, is the first in a trilogy covering energy, food, and water. Siegel is an engineer and a prolific inventor with 44 patents. He is President of Rain Mountain LLC and is the Founder and Executive Director of Cool Rochester, a non-profit agency devoted to reducing the carbon footprint of Rochester by one billion pounds by 2012. He writes a column three times a week for the sustainable business website Triple Pundit (www.triplepundit.com).

The Genesee Reading Series will be held at Writers & Books, located at 740 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607, on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for members and $6 for the general public.
