NaPoWriMo Week-end: April 14 Just Poet Meeting

Just Poet Meeting 4/14
Put together 16 poets, a sampling of quincouplets written on postcards, add a touch of party with lemonade and cupcakes that sail in with M.J. and a reading of “favorite poems” and why that particular poem… and presto illico, a delightful afternoon of sharing
and connection, followed by a workshop!
Favorite Poems read today:
Lori Nolasco:   “anyone lived in a pretty how town” by ee cummings
Gretchen Schultz who also chose an ee cummings poem, if I carry your heart.
John Roche read Spring and all by William Carlos Williams 
Laura Klinkon read her own translation of Perchi I’ No Spero Di Tornar Giammai
(Since I do not hope ever to return) by Guido Cavalcanti,
Jules Nyquist shared The First Child by fellow Minnesotan Joyce Sutphen (who is currently Minnesota’s poet laureate)
David Michael Nixon shared Charles Reznikoff 1 (his poems are numbered, not titled; this is from In Memoriam)
Anita Augesen shared Dust by Dorianne Laux (in Roger Housden’s Risking Everything: 110 Poems of Love and Revelation  as well as her book, The Things We Carry)
Elaine Olsssen shared Station by Li-young Lee (from the Anthology, Lasting:  poems on aging  http://www.poetryarchive.org/poetryarchive/singlePoem.do?poemId=8974
Ed Scutt read Stephen Crane’s War is Kind
Kitty Jospé  read Marie Ponsot’s Rune, Interminable
