Robert Pinsky Reading Tonight!!!!

The Writers Forum (SUNY Brockport) is widely recognized as one of the outstanding reading series in the country. Tonight is another installment in an ever-growing list of impressive literary celebrations. Robert Pinsky, award-winning poet, essayist, and translator, will be reading at 7:30 at Temple B’rith Kodesh on Elmwood Avenue in Rochester.

Former US Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky is the author of 19 books, most of which are collections of his own poetry. His published work also includes critically acclaimed translations, such as The Inferno of Dante and The Separate Notebooks by Czeslaw Milosz. His honors include an Arts and Letters Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the William Carlos Williams Award, the Shelley Memorial prize from the Poetry Society of America and the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry. Pinsky is also a recipient of the National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship and a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship, and he has served as a chancellor for the Academy of American Poets. He is currently poetry editor of Slate, a weekly online magazine, and teaches in the graduate writing program at Boston University.
