The July Genesee Reading Series offers the opportunity to hear
Marie Starr and Larry Berger, two multi-talented poets (among
other things) and activists.
Marie Starr, a graduate of St. John Fisher College, is a writer, artist, editor, and photographer, whose work is informed by the principle “Disturb the comfortable; comfort the disturbed.” She has a small press, Serendipity 3, which published her book The Earth Is Full of Earth,” a full-length volume of original art, photography, and words. Currently she’s making webpages & CDs & doing promotion for H.E.X.X. [Helping Everyone eXscape eXile] ~ the No.1 Hip Hop Crew ever! She has a small publishing company: Serendipity Press. She was involved in the 20th Anniversary celebration at Pure Kona and appeared in Erotic Nights this past Spring. Her art will be displayed at Books, ETC. in Macedon in July.

Larry Berger was born at Genesee Hospital and lived in Henrietta. He followed several members of his family into the food industry and became a professional chef at the Century Plaza Hotel chain in Los Angeles. A car accident ended that career, and Larry now composes poetry, lectures, blogs, tours, publishes books, and shares passionate opinions about performance poetry and what it means to be a performance poet. He created the forms “Instant Poetry (Just Add Words)” and “Word Dancing.” He promotes poetry and the business of making a living through poetry. He has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who’s Who Executive and Professional Registry, recognizing his commitment to excellence in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.

Should be a great event! Don’t miss it!
